There was a tight time frame for this project as the clients were newlyweds expecting their first child. Though the study, formal rooms and bespoke bedrooms held provenance in the re-development it was extension at the rear that took our greatest focus and perhaps skill to orchestrate.
After a detailed set of drawings supplied by Diane Sieff, the interior designer who introduced me to the couple, the first requirement was to set up an area in the basement that would serve as a day room for the family; a central focus, a place that they could commune and find peace and recreation. This was defined by an open planned design around the kitchen space and area.
